San Diego, CA (PRWEB) October 10, 2013

Local San Diego family law attorney Andy Cook has announced his candidacy for a Board of Directors position with the San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA), an organization he has been actively involved in for nearly 20 years. He currently sits on three committees and holds three section memberships in the SDCBA, and is currently a Co-Organizer of the Judges Orientation Program. Andy also currently serves on the Arbitration Panel for the Mandatory Fee Arbitration Fee Dispute Program offered through the bar association.

Attorney Andy Cook is a certified family law specialist, with certification from the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. In addition to his private practice representing clients in divorce, child custody disputes and paternity matters, Andy serves as a temporary judge in the Superior Courts of San Diego and Los Angeles counties. He has received three Outstanding Service Citations from the San Diego County Superior Court and has twice received the Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services.

Andy has submitted his candidacy for the SDCBA Board position with a clear focus and vision for his role. “My goals are to increase membership, help the new lawyers and others in this difficult job environment, and to build on an already great continuing education program,” says Andy on his candidate page at the SDCBA website. Andy has gathered an impressive list of endorsements in support of his candidacy for the Board of Directors, including three local legal organizations, five retired members of the judiciary, 13 former SDCBA Board Members (including six past presidents), and 72 fellow attorneys.

Online voting for the Board of Directors positions begins October 15th. Members can vote online by logging in to the SDCBA website. Members needing assistance logging in or wishing to request a paper ballot are urged to contact Katie Doherty at (619) 321-4118.
